Dhopeshwar
“Dhopeshwar” Devasthan is a famous temple located in the village of Dhopeshwar in Rajapur Taluka. Just by visiting Dhutpapeshwar, one’s sins are washed away, and that’s why Dhutpapeshwar is renowned as the deity that cleanses sins. This Shiva temple is very ancient. However, about 15 to 20 years ago, the temple underwent renovations, keeping the original wooden carvings intact. The sanctum was reconstructed in stone, while the hall (Sabhamandap) was rebuilt with new wooden work. Recently, within the last 10 to 15 years, a new asphalt road leading to the temple has been constructed. Dhopeshwar is located 5 kilometers from Rajapur.
You will always find a crowd of devotees here. This temple is situated on the banks of the Murdani river and is an ancient temple. The natural beauty surrounding the temple is extraordinary, with large mountains on both sides of the temple. The rivers cascading from these mountains add to the scenic beauty. The Murdani river flows down from high mountains, creating a beautiful waterfall near the temple. A few travelers visit to see this waterfall. The ideal time to visit the waterfall is between July and November, when the water is abundant. There is also a large crowd during Mondays and on Maha Shivratri.How to Reach There: Dhopeshwar is located 5 kilometers from Rajapur, and transportation is available from Rajapur to the temple.
